MARTA SOLAR CANOPIES Project Overview
The project is a Design/Build solar canopy project that was awarded through a competitive selection process. The project includes design and installing 1.17MW photovoltaic system that will be connected to the existing facility and to the Georgia Power electrical grid. The photovoltaic system will be installed on an approximately 190,000 sf structural steel canopy structure that will be installed over an existing bus parking lot at their maintenance facility. Half of the structure will be for the photovoltaic system and the remaining portion will provide shading for the buses by utilizing perforated metal canopy panels.
