GARDEN CITY REGIONAL POLICE ACADEMY Project Overview
The new Regional Police Academy for the Georgia Public Safety Training Center is a design build project with New South Construction and Hussey Gay Bell DeYoung Architects. The new 10,400 sf one story facility contains large classrooms for approximatelyy 35 students each and a multi-purpose classroom for approximately 87 students complete with rubber flooring for tactical training. Other features include administration offices, vault, two simulator rooms including a "judgmental simulation" room with a large projection screen where recruits practice high-pressure scenarios, a 743 sf storage room, a 534 sf breakroom and locker room facilities with showers. The facility also has on site parking, for 100 vehicles.
