Higher Education  -  SPELMAN COLLEGE STUDENT HOUSING, DINING AND PARKING DECK

Spelman College student housing includes 110 apartment units with a total of 305 bed spaces. There are also five visitor suites. The dining hall includes a full service kitchen, serving areas and public seating for 175 students. There is also a private dining area complete with pre-function space and 30 person seating for special events.  The parking deck provides covered parking for approximately 100 spaces.

The building structure consists of a relatively new design system, Diversakore. Diversakore is a proprietary system utilizing a proprietary composite beam structure, comprised of steel channels, plates and headed stubs acting compositely with high strength poured in place concrete and hollow core concrete planks. The lightweight structure helps minimize foundation sizes and costs, while the quick erection time reduces the overall project schedule.
