Higher Education - GEORGIA STATE UNIVERSITY - CLASSROOM SOUTH BUILDING ADDITION
GEORGIA STATE UNIVERSITY - CLASSROOM SOUTH BUILDING ADDITION Project Overview
The new classroom south addition is the design/build of a new five (5) story, 25,000 sf structure that matches the existing Classroom South Building. The lower floor was retained for parking and future build out. Each of the elevated floors (Level 2 – 5) contains 4 general purpose classrooms and computer labs, for a total of sixteen classrooms to accommodate 700 student seats. Each classroom is equipped with audio/visual equipment, computer desks, data cabling, security and telephone systems.
Transition from the existing facility to the new addition was designed to be seamless and features ground level entry from adjacent sidewalks.
The exterior contains punched windows with a stucco veneer, which matches the existing building. Each level was tied into the existing structure and the building addition was designed to accommodate a future classroom expansion.
