Education K-12 - WESLEYAN SCHOOL - GILLFILLAN HALL
WESLEYAN SCHOOL - GILLFILLAN HALL Project Overview
In 1996, New South Construction completed Marchman Gymnasium, the first permanent structure on Wesleyan's developing campus. Over the next eleven years, New South Construction completed numerous projects, turning a previously wooded, sixty-five acre campus into a premier learning institution for education, fine arts, and athletics in the state of Georgia. Gillfillan Hall was the final building constructed during Wesleyan's "Complete the Campus” campaign. This project included the renovation of Marchman Gymnasium and addition of a new Administration Building.
Home of Wesleyan's administration, Gillfillan Hall embodies Wesleyan's original vision: to provide students with a sense of “home, church and community.” To accomplish this, the building features many cathedral-style cast stone arches and dramatic stone entrances. The entry foyer welcomes visitors with custom slate flooring and a spectacular vaulted ceiling with stained wood beams, giving the space a sense of warmth.
