RABUN COUNTY JAIL Project Overview
The Rabun County Detention Center includes 6 dayrooms, each with 8 double occupancy pre-fabricated steel cells. The cells are stacked two high with a steel grate mezzanine providing access to the second tier of cells. Each dayroom is 100% viewable from a centrally located second floor control room. The building includes two outside air recreation rooms which are also viewable and controlled via the second floor control room. The building also includes a booking/receiving area which has 6 pre-fabricated steel cells for holding/isolation. The health clinic, laundry, and inmate visitation surround the security areas. All security locks are electronic and the facility has capacity for minimum, medium and maximum security areas for both male and female inmates, as well as handicap accessible cells.
