Criminal Justice and Public Buildings - OCONEE COUNTY JAIL
OCONEE COUNTY JAIL Project Overview
This project includes the construction of a new jail and administration building, as well as a new 911/EOC Center at the site of the current jail. The new 21,000 square foot jail building includes a total of 52 masonry cells with 120 total beds divided up into seven separate dayrooms. Dayrooms and cells are controlled via a second floor control room with direct views into the dayrooms. An outside air recreation yard is also included within the building perimeter. The jail pod building is connected via a controlled corridor to the 15,000 square foot administration building, which includes inmate booking, holding, segregation, medical facilities, central control, a full kitchen and laundry. It also houses offices for the Sheriff's Department, including facilities for Criminal Investigations and Records. The 6,000 square foot 911/EOC building includes facilities for County-wide 911 and dispatch, as well as Emergency Operations.
