Criminal Justice and Public Buildings  -  JACKSON COUNTY JAIL

The Jackson County Jail project includes new facilities for the developing Jackson County Government Complex, just north of Jefferson, GA. It includes a new jail with attached Administration Building and Dispatch Center. The new 128,000 sf facility includes a 450 bed jail. The precast concrete Jail Housing Building consists of two jail pod buildings which  have 108 steel cells each. The pod buildings also include several outside air recreation yards within the building perimeter for security. The Jail Support Area includes 2 segregation dayrooms, separate male, female and juvenile holding, booking, medical, kitchen and laundry areas. Attached to the jail and support areas is the 16,000 sf Administration Area which houses the County's Sheriff's Office, patrol division, jail records, and criminal investigation division. The Dispatch Center is 3,500 sf and houses the Sheriff's Office and new facility for the county's dispatch operations and is also constructed of precast concrete. The jail includes full security electronic operation of the jail, digital video visitation for public inmate visits, and a hearing room.
