Aviation - DELTA AIR LINES SOUTH TERMINAL RENOVATION
DELTA AIR LINES SOUTH TERMINAL RENOVATION Project Overview
The Delta Air Lines South Terminal Ticket Lobby Reconfiguration project consisted of a complete renovation of the Delta Air Lines ticketing lobby support areas and infrastructure at the world's busiest airport, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Improvements include: offices, kiosks, ticket counters, baggage conveyors, pneumatic tubes, and network backbone, all of which were replaced while maintaining daily operations. Approximately 20,000 s.f. of new structure was added to the building for the relocation of “Back of House” operations and the introduction of a new security checkpoint to the south terminal. The results of this project include an increase in the number of ticket counters available to passengers both inside the terminal and the lower and upper curbsides. Construction of each phase had to be completed without any interference with airport operations including: passenger travel, safety and airport security. Flexibility with the owner’s specific needs was required to maintain construction during their reorganization.
